Organ Recital - Ian Clarke
Time & Location
About the Event
An organ recital performed by acclaimed organist, Ian Clarke. This concert will include the world premiere of the prize-
winning piece from the Festival’s International Competition for Women Composers, as well celebrating the birth, 400 years ago, of Isabella Leonarda, one of the most prolific convent composers of the Baroque era.
After studies in London and in Cambridge, as Organ Scholar of Trinity College, Ian returned to his native town of Northampton where he directed music at the town’s two famous musical churches, All Saints’ and St. Matthew’s.
Today Ian pursues an active freelance career; he has extensive teaching interests, and is on the panel of Examiners for the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music, work which takes him far afield. He plays with several instrumental ensembles as solo harpsichordist and organist, and directs three choirs, including the highly acclaimed chamber group, Swarbrick Singers.
Admission by Festival Pass £28 or individual event tickets £12.50. Under 16s free when accompanied by an adult.
