Sarah Small and her Early Music Ensemble performing at Brixworth in 2019

The Brixworth Music Festival was created in 2014 by a small group of enthusiastic Northamptonshire musicians who wanted to bring together a variety of musical talent to perform in the heart of the historic village of Brixworth. Most of the concerts are held in Brixworth's Saxon Church; its ancient walls and cavernous ceiling  providing a wonderful acoustic and the perfect surroundings for the timeless pieces being performed.

Brixworth Music Festival is gradually gaining a reputation – not only in Northamptonshire but also nationwide and in Europe. Since its inauguration in 2014 our audiences have been provided with an interesting mix of classical and contemporary music, interspersed with jazz and light music. Artists have included some of the best orchestras, choirs and bands in the area, as well as international ensembles and soloists. In 2015 we had the pleasure and privilege of hosting the Master of the Queen's Music, Judith Weir. In 2018 we launched an International Competition for Women Composers and we strive to include works by female composers throughout the festival week.

The 2020 Festival will cater to all tastes.  Our aim is to reach out to the community and involve them in all forms of music – and to also include local composers and musicians.  It you would like to take part please contact us.
